St. Patrick came from Islandneady when he was going to Aughagower. He spent seven years in Aughagower and it is said he wished to die there but God commaneded him to go. He had his house below Carney's in Aughagower and he made a well out in front of Greevery's house. After seven years he left Aughagower. There were no roads that time but paths and St. Patrick travelled by the best path. The best path that time was where the road is now. He came on the path which that time went across Pat Keane's hill and he made a well there and blessed it three times.
