- About fifty years ago an uncle of mine was going to Seefin cross on the road leading from Cavan to Bailieboro about five miles from Bailieboro when a black coach passed drawn by two black horses without heads and the driver had no head either. This coach used to go that way every night between the hours of twelve and one o'clock.
A man was fowling round Lough Accurry which is about five miles west of Bailieboro. He had a gun and a water-dog with him. The lake was covered with ice but there is a 'tournhole' in one place and no ice on it a young otter came up there and was on top of the ice.
The man shot it and the dog went out and was bringing it in when the old otter came up and dragged both dog and young otter down disappeared under the ice.
There are 'mankeepers' in the bottom of the wells and pools in this district. They are about the size of a man's middle finger and(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
