- A lot of birds live in Ireland but some of them go away in the winter time as it is too cold for them such as the cuckoo, the swallow, the corncrake and many others.
When the weather is dry the swallows fly high.
When it is going to rain we hear the curlews wail.
When the weather is wet we hear the rooks fret.
Some people say that if a robin comes into a house a couple of times (after other) in succession that somebody belonging to the family will die soon or is dead or dying. Once upon a time about two years ago a robin came into a house in this district and sat on the Sacred Heart alter in the kitchen and that day the woman of the house died in hospital.- Bailitheoir
