  1. Long ago poets were more common than they are nowadays. They used to go to houses and they would stay a few days in them. Thomas Moore was a famous poet and Thomas McDonagh also. There are not many poets songs nowadays. The poets were also called bards. The Carolan's were the last bards in Ireland.
