  1. The fair of Bailieboro is held in the street on the first Monday on every month.
    Buyers come from all parts of Cavan, Meath and Monaghan to buy cattle. When an animal is sold there is generally a luck penny given.
    When the bargain for an animal is made the buyer puts a mark on its back to show that it has been bought.
    The Christmas fair is the biggest fair of the year. The third Monday of every month is the big pig market.
