  1. Years ago a lady visitor to the district of Bailieboro told the following story:- When I was a little girl I was sent on a message very early in the morning. It was a Summer's morning and I was barefooted. My way was accross the fields and when I approached a fence or ditch that I had to cross I saw a little man sitting on the top of the ditch. He was not more than a foot high and he was making or repairing a pair of tiny shoes and when he saw me he said "look at your foot bleeding miss" I looked
