Some brighter assailants did terror reform
And rave out their nonsense in the lying meal
But after a calm there comes always a storm
Such fictions and falsehoods shall never prevail
'Tis known these past ages how we've been treated
And Grattan declared with the heart of a lion
The wrongs of his country he loudly repeated
And bigots gave way on the Banks of the Boyne.

  2. The poet dreamt a dream one night that he entered the awful regions of Eternity and saw Pluto there holding a long pitch-fork in his hand. The mighty rebel said "you are welcome man, to my kingdom. You shall not or will not be molested". Then he entered into a long conversation with the author who described his visit in the following lines:-
    I
One night I dreamt I entered Hell
That scene was dark and dreary
Twice I slipped and once I fell
    The place was so contrary.
