  2. Strange Animals
    Told by

    Enniscorthy
There were many old tales in olden times about the Mall Bridge near Castledockrill. A black pig was often seen between eleven and twelve o'clock at night. People often went to see it, but they were afraid to meddle with it, because they guessed something strange about it. There was also a horse seen coming the Milehouse road and back again on the lands adjoining my own house. There is a path on the lands near my own house and an animal in the shape of a bull used to be seen there. One night a man came home from his work and he was walking on the path. The bull chased him and the man died in less than a week.
