    The Bean Sighe is no stranger to the people of Ballycanew.

    The Bean Sidhe is no stranger to the people of Ballycarew. She has often been heard immediately preceding the death of some one of the inhabitants and it is said and generally accepted that "She follows certain families." Mr McGuinness told me that one evening nearly 46 years ago 'tween lights he was standing on the footpath in Ballycarew, when a very small girl went running across the street, her hair hanging loosely and down the lane by the creamery.
