    said that the whole county-side turned out to see the hanging. The Gallows was set up under a group of trees (which still are there) on the top of Linbuck Hill, the reason for this being that the sentence of death was named to be carried out within sight of the place where the shooting of the bailiff took place.
    (Sep. 1934) This story was told me by Mr. Andrew Kinsella of Tubberpatrick-Tinahely- Co. Wicklow. The site of the old race course was on the land at present owned by Mr. G. O'Neill, Mucklagh, Ballinglen. The tombstone of a Thomas Caull died 1772 in the ancient grave yard of Kilcashel (see No. 49)
