In the townland of Killburn about tw miles outside the village of Taghmon there lived an old man named Mr. White. He was a very proud of himself and would not allow anybody to go near him. He was very rich and he lived in a hut made of mud. He employed a man to dig a pit around the house. When the pit was he paid the man four and the man went home. He began to write poems and songs.
One day an old beggar came to the house to look for alms. He fell into the pit and died of hunger. The old man died and the hut fell and the pit was filled again. The ghost of the man who died has haunted that place ever since then.
