- (continued from previous page)will have a fruitful lucky year in Ireland. If it is an easterly wind the English will have all the prosperity. On twelfth day people take down all their Xmas decorations. They say water is changed into wine at midnight on Little Xmas night.
- Shrove Tuesday is the day before Ash Wednesday. People make a lot of pancakes on that day. If there are any marriagable boys or girls out on that night they put a rope about them and drag them to be married. It is the last day that people have to get married on until Lent is over.
