    If you have a "crowing" hen in the fowl house carry her away and leave her at a cross toads.
    A cock who crows at midnight foretells coming trouble.
    If you have chickens coming out during a thunderstorm always stick the tongs or iron in the fire and they will not get killed with the noise.
