Long ago, anyone that had a spite in for you used to bury a sheaf of oats & stick a pin in every knot of it. Sometimes they used throw the sheaf into a boghole. According as the sheaf would be dacaying, the person used be dying away. There used to be sheaves found in Gilmore's old bogholes. They used make it three days before they buried it & wake it in a room of their houses for three days. Early in the morning of the third day, two of them used to go & throw it in some deep boghole. When they had it thrown in they used kneel down & cry with spite.
One morning ealy as Bob White was going to clamp turf he heard great crying coming from the hills of Killadoran (Delvin'). After a while he saw a man & woman coming with a sheaf. Bob hid behind one of the clamps when he saw them, to see where they were going. They came along to one of the bogholes & threw in the sheaf, began to cry over it,(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
