Old Sríonáin was once a wood
Where ash and oak profusely grew,
In those days now long ago
When roads or paths were but a few,
But a path was cut from the Great House
Down by an ancient rath,
From which the place derived its name
Sríonáin or bridle path.

Upon a hill there stood a tower
It stood there many a day,
That it was built by Captain Lloyd
Is what the legend say.
He built it as a signal tower
That all his friends might know,
When the flag flew high he was at home,
But away when it flew low.
III
In later years, when roads were built
And all the woods cut down,
When the ancient trees once waved and swayed
Were fields and "hamlets" brown
''Twas then they say that for the sake
Of the old tower on the hill,
They changed the name of old Sríonáin
And called the place Towerhill.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Faisnéiseoir
