   There was a man coming from Mitchelstown one night about eleven oclock with a load of timber. When he came to a turn of the road he saw a man coming towards him but he thought it was his brother coming to meet him so he did not care. As he came near his brother as he thought, it was one of his uncles who was dead for years. The uncle asked him where he was this hour of the night. he said that he had to wait in town for the timber. The uncle said that never to be out so late any other night. The man said he would not. The uncle said he would hear a sad story when he would go home. The uncle said no more and went off. The man went home very frightened and told the story to his wife. She said that their son was dead near Ballyporeen that she was after hearing it now. So the man was never out so late again.
