They had but one girl and she had a terrible treatmor in her left side and she was lame. Her mother told us that one evening when coming home from school she visited a fort in which she picked some flowers and slept.
When she was awakened by her mother she found her in this state. One day the Lawlees went to fell a tree in one of the forts, and when they started they at once heard the bellow close by of a bull but they did not see him. They at once left the fort and never since made an attempt to fell the tree.
