   with the cows to keep them from stinging. When we are driving the cows we say "haba haba". The pigs are also one of our farm animals, when we are calling them we say "Hurish Hurish". When we are calling the calves we say "suck suck". The hens are the most useful fowl in the farm yard, as they lay eggs which we sell and eat. They are very easily fed only two meals a day either of chopped cabbage, boiled potatoes, or meal which is the best. When hatching the eggs we put down thirteen eggs, and the reason we put down this number is in honour of Our Lord and the twelve Apostles. After three weeks a clutch of handsome fluffy chickens comes out. A good many superstitions are worked by eggs, all of course by the power of the devil. Very often especially in the Summer people put eggs in hay to take the owners luck. Superstitions are also worked by meat, generally bacon to carry luck to themselves.
