1. When the sun is a pale colour.

5. When a great number of stars are seen in the sky.
6. The wind from the north brings snow.
7. The western wind indicates rain.
8. The eastern wind is neither good for man nor beast.
9. The south western wind brings most rain to this district.

11. When the rooks are making a lot of noise.
12. When the seagulls are whistling.
13. When the cat has his back to the fire.
14. When the dog eats grass.
15. When the cows are running or gadding.
