- The fairs that are held locally are in Bandon and Kinsale. The fair is held in the town. Some times buyers come around to farmer's houses buying cattle.About ten years ago there was a fair held in Ballinspittle. It was held only once every three months. It was a fair for cattle.The fair in Bandon is held in Barracks square. When the animal is sold luck money. If a sheep is sold the buyer gets a shilling luck money from the seller.When the cattle are sold the buyers marks them with raddle or lime or tar or with a scissors. When a horse is sold the halter is generally given with the horse.In Bandon there are two special fairs for horses. One on the twenty seventh of February and the other on the fourth of August. There is a fair for pigs sheep and cattle. The fairs are held on the first Tuesday and Wednesday.
