  1. A Local Song

James Judge he was widow's son

A man named James Judge was drowned in Lough Arrow some years ago. He lived in the townland of Aughacarra. He worked for Judge Flanagan of Drumdoe. One fine Summer's day after finishing his work he decided to go for a swim. When he was out in the water he took cramps. He sank, and when he was sinking he waved for help. His body was found next morning by Pat Coghlan. (my grandfather) He had one brother and two sisters.
Some poet of the district made a song about him.
    A Local Song.
