    crops that were near the river. It did great damage to houses in parts of the country.
    Thunderstorm
    On the 12th August 1912 a fierce thunderstorm swept the country. It killed sheep, cattle, horses, and birds. A little girl named Hale of Thomastown was killed in her home.
    Drought period
    IN 1921 there was a great drought. People had to go a long distance for water and to drive the animals a long distance also. It burned up all the grass. The turnips were not thinned until after the harvest.
