  1. A little girl named Phillis Walsh of Thomastown was playing outside her own house about four years ago, when she fell into the river Nore and was drowned. Her body was found about a fortnight later in the branches of a tree near Brownsbarn.

  2. Miss Power of Kilfane, Thomastown when swimming with Miss Connelly Ballyduff near the latters house was drowned. She got a cramp and floated down the river, and was dead when taken from the water about an hour later.
