- The people long ago were poorer than they are now a days. They only ate two meals in the day and potatoes were eaten the twiceThey were eaten the twice morning an evening. The meal consisted of potatotes in the form of bread and in the evening the potatoes were teamed into the basket and set on a stool. The men the women and the children sat round the basket and ate their fill.They never drank tea but at every meal they drank milk. They drank butter at dinnertime.
