  1. Children now a days do not make so many toys as they used to, because they can buy them cheaply in the shops.
    Girls long ago used to get an old black stocking and stuff it with rags and tie at the top to serve as a head. Then they put beads for eyes and red wool for nose and mouth and tow for hair.
    The Boy make Kites from paper and string. Little children used to string Daises and make a chain. They also used to gather Cowslips and make Cowslips Balls. They used to play ball with these. They used to make guns with lots [?] of Elder branches. They also used to make Catapults with a
