  1. This is a cure for a cold that my grandmother told me. Get a saucepan and clean it well, then put a cupful of fresh butter-milk into the saucepan, leave it on the fire to boil into whey, keep stirring it or else it will form curd. Take it up and put one oz of utter into the boiling whey, put two spoons of sugar in it, leave it on the fire again for about four minutes, and take it as hot as you can going to bed, for a few nights and your cold will be better.
