  1. A very old interesting building round this vicinity is the Church in Murrisk Abbey. Long ago it was used as a hostel for Pilgrims and the Augustinian Monks lived there. They employed the people that lived round the place to build the Church, and they were paid four pence per day.
    It was built of hand cut limestone, and the windows were not glass. There was a narrow opening in the wall, with an iron bar going up the centre, to protect it from any invaders. The walls of
