    out with spades lifting the sheep out the snow. The sheep made a chimney in the snow with their breath and in this way the air got in to them and they were able to survive in many cases for the whole three weeks.
    On the first of April 1917 the same year there was another snowstorm. It was severe on lambs, so the farmers had to put in their lambs and sheep. This snow was not as bad as the snow storm in the month of February because it was only blustery. Some of it was drifted along walls. To make matters worse another shower of snow came in the 13th of May 1917 also. This was very severe because the people could save no hay. You may sat nearly all that year was bad. No one ever forgets that year 1917. Farmers met with many
