    The landlords of Quin were the Singletonsthe Mahons and the Creaghs.The people did not like the land-lords .They had to pay heavy rent to them and if they did not pay it they were evicted.
    When people were evicted their neighbours gave them shelter or else helped to build houses or huts for them.Then the people who were evicted went, or sent someone ,to the priest or to some-one who was friendly with the land -lords to make a settlement and get a reduction in the rent.
