    "Fairs"
There used to be four fairs in this district long ago.The people used to pay tolls as they went into the fair -green according to the number of cattle they had.
They also gave a luck- penny .It was the seller who used to give it to the buyer. The luck -penny is usually a shilling to the pound.
When the seller and buyer are making the bargain the buyer spits on the seller's hand .Then he takes up a piece of mud off the road and puts it on the beast's back so the people will know that they are sold.
