    heads and howled and roared and roused them from their slumber that they dashed widely from their cabins only to be hurled about like whisps of straw.In like manner hay ,corn and and every thing that came in its way were swept in every direction.
    With morning came a calm and hundreds of poor familys found themselves ,perishing ,famishing,and homeless.
    They united and tried to provide new homes ,but this time they built their little cabins in shaded nooks.We some-times hear people say "What a place to build a house".How ignorant they were long".The people who speak like this forget that the wind frightened our forefathers ,and when they,could not afford to build good solid houses
