- About one hundred years ago in my great grandmother's time a lot of weaving was done in the country. She weaved and spun in our house. The yarn was spun first and then woven into linen. She spun a good deal in her young days.
The linen was made into bed sheets, towels and men's shirts. A man called Smith of Lattyloo bought the lined from her and she was able to earn as much as kept the house in provisions.
