    first three days of April are called unlucky. Saturday is also an unlucky day because it is said that if you begin work on Saturday that you will never get it finished. Wednesday is a lucky day to get married.

  2. It was considered unlucky and also dangerous to bathe on Whit Sunday. If a mare foaled on either Whit Sunday or Whit Monday a sod would have to be put on the foal's head if this was not done the foal is supposed to kill something.
