years ago, Michael Smith and Patrick Reilly, Killarue, Cootehill, were out fishing in a boat on Killarue Lake. It was a very stormy evening.
When they were near the bank there came a terrible blast of wind and it blew the boat against the rocks. The boat was smashed into pieces.
Michael Smith was an able swimmer but the other boy couldn't swim. Michael tried to save the other boy but failed and reached the bank safely himself. Patrick Reilly was drowned.
