    Roinn Roinn Postáil
    Shops were common long ago but not so numerous as at present. The people had to go to the nearest town to get goods. They people sold things & brought things after mass. This is still done. The markets were held in the towns & still are. A shilling was called 'a bob' & a sixpence 'a tanner'.
    Goods were bartered in the district & sometimes labour was given in exchange. They used the word 'Boot' for buying & selling.
    Hucksters, pedlars & feather dealers came round & come sometines yet. A penny was called "a make".
