    to within a quarter of a mile, of the "wedding house", a halt was made. The fleetfooted young men of the party jumped from their cars and ran like deers till they reached the house. The first arrival was given the prize - a bottle of whiskey, and a proud distinction it was in those days - to "win the bottle.
    The triumphant youth immediately returned tow where the remainder of the party were waiting and handed the bottle to the blushing bride. Removing her veil - all brides wore veils in those days - she had the first mouthfull
