  1. There was a landlord in this district. His name was W.G. Smith. His family was not long in the district. He was a good landlord. There were no evictions or plantations in this district. The landlord had not much land in his possession. The land was handed over to him by the English. The land was divided into farms among our ancestors. In olden times the land was sub-divided among members of families on marriage. Tithes were not collected in this district, but very big rents were collected. Battles were sometimes fought in the district. There are no stories told about them.
