  1. The local landlord was Mr burrows. The family is supposed to have lived at Stradone for about 300 years. They were not considered very bad landlords, and there were few evictions or plantings during their time. When Cromwell came over to Ireland he took possession of large districts and placed these men as landlords in them. The landlords divided the land into farms, and each tenant lived on a farm and paid very big rent. Any tenant who failed to pay the rent was evicted. The landlord's agent also collected tithes from every tenant twice a year.
