  1. Some time ago a certain man from Bruskey who was rather fond of drink went to the fair at Ballinagh one stormy day. That night his son went out to meet him coming from the fair. He had only gone a few hundred yards from home when he saw his father coming, so not wishing to meet him he returned home. He told his sister that the father was coming down the road. After a long time no one came so the son went out again and again he saw his father coming. Thinking that something delayed him the son returned to the house and waited but no one came. Out he goes the third time determined to bring his father home, but when he came up to the man he discovered it wasn't his father but an evil looking stranger. He tried to pass him in the road but found he couldn't move forward. He hurried back and told his sister. She came along and
