old people say that the Franciscans blessed it when they where leaving Cavan.
A short time after the Franciscans had left Cavan, Mr. John Fay of Moynehall a very old man, closed the well, because he thought it was too dangerous for his cattle. A few weeks after he had closed it, it broke open in another place, about ten or twelve yards from the spot where Mr. Fay had closed it, and it is there yet, for anyone to see.
