  1. In every district there are travelling folk going from house to house looking for alms. These people do not stay in the one place always, they usually have certain places where they put up and so they keep going from one place to another. These people come every six months. Sometimes the women folk have baskets and goods in them, they sell them to the people. They carry pins, holy pictures, toys and cans. These people sleep in tents and dine in vans.
Some old men have been coming round the place for the past ten years. They usually come on foot. Other parties travel in vans they are married people with families.
There is a very old band that comes to this placed called the McCartys. These people come about the fair of Banaghar and Ballinasloe as these fairs last for three days.
