  1. There is an old castle about five miles from our house. It is called Leap Castle. There was a lot of protestant people living in it about a hundred years ago. They wanted to kill all the priests and they could not tell what plan to make to catch them. They had a barrick of soldiers near the place to mind them. They had a great party at the castle and they invited the people in and only one priest came. When they had them all in they locked the gates. The priest was ridign on horse back and before he got down off the horse he knew they were going to kill him. He turned around for the gate and the horse jumped ut over the piers and the priest was saved. They were never able to catch him after. To this day it is called Leap Castle. Nobody lives there now. It was burned down many years ago and only the walls are to be
