  1. One time a man lived in Castletown. His wife died and that night she appeared to him and she told him that there was gold in the wood. She also toldhim that when he would go looking for it that he must bring his mother, a black cat and some holy water with him. The next morning the man nd his mother arose very early and with the black cat and holy water, they set off in search of the gold.
When they got to the wood the man started to dig for the gold. Suddenly his spade struck something, he took to be iron. Then a very strange thing happened. All the leaves on the trees began to shake and his mother fainted. The man in great fear ran away and it is said that the gold is still there.
