    Silks ans satins scarlet and velvet often put out the kitchen fire.
    Wilful waste makes woeful want.
    Plough deep while sluggards sleep and you will have corn to sell and keep.
    A new broom sweeps clean and the old one knows the corner.
    Eaten bread is soon forgotten
    The ripest apple is soonest rotten.
    The more rain the more rest all fine weather is not the best.
    The wet and windy May fills up the haggard with corn and hay.
