    My Home District
The name of my home townland is Ballyfoley. It is in the parish of Kilbride.
There are nine families and forty four people in the townland
Some of the labourers houses are slated and some are thatched.
There were more houses in former times.

  2. Bread
About seventy years ago people used to grind with griding stones.
They made Potato cakes and baked bread with ground oats mixed with water. Bread was not ever baked in front of the fire it was always baked over the fire. Enough bread was baked for a few days at a time at a time.
