  1. St Martin's Night
    No fishermen never put to sea along this coast on this night.
    Another custom prevailed here. A bird was killed 'to draw blood' and eaten by the family or given away.
    Hallow'een
    An unmarried woman went at midnight to where three farms meet - where "Thee Lords lands meet." She called out to know her future husbands Christian name and she heard it in the wind.
    Then again lady disposed for marriage stayed up till midnight. An apple was eaten before a mirror. The future husband was called and he appeared at once looking over the maiden's shoulder in the mirror.
