As I rored out one day fair I was in the month of May

    Earl Fitzwilliam to his love.
Father-in-law to Mr Doyne Wells Monamolin
As I roved out one day fair
Twas in the month of May
The little birds with merry note
    Made vocal every spray
They sang their little tales of love
They sang them oer and oer
Its gradh mo chroidhe mo chailín ó
    Mo Molly Asthore
Oh the daisies . . the primrose
    And violet blue, lay scattered
    oer the field
Such fragrances in the bosom lies
    Of her whom I adore
O! its gradh mo chroidhe . . mo chailín o
    Mo Molly asthore
Oh. two turtle doves above my head
    Sat singing on a bough
    I envied them their happiness
To see them 'bill + coo
