  1. Song

He bought me from a tinker when I was but a faol.

He bought me from a tinker, when i was but a foal.
It is little I taught would be my lot to be murdered by a pole.
Cruel was my master, he brought me to a fair and sold me to a ragman, they called him Ballinair.
This old lad had harness bad, and not a shoe upon my foot.
The hols he had beat in my back, he fills them up with soot.
He puts me out on winter nights to pick the bushes bare, and what I met I'll never forget of Pat of Balliniar.
Some sticks and stones and old men's bones were all my load to carry.
Tired, wet and weary I lay down upon the road, then Pat gets down and walks all round and roars out, like a beast[?]
You should see his countenance then
Its when you reach to Timahoe its then you'll be among your friends.
The hash you'll get for me is no has of skins for it is now I am going to die.
I'm sure you will sell my skin you won't
