stay in the caravan. Two or three women go around together begging. The names of the travellers known in our district are the Joyces, the Donoghues, the Gavins and the Keenans. The Donoghues are the best known in our district. In the war time the tinkers were very useful because they brought news from one end of Ireland to the other. There are two old men that go around and their names are Morgan and Crowley and they are great singers. They sing at sports and the people give them pennies.
