    children used to bring a sod of turf each every winter's morning.
    Mr Bob Smith now owns the field. When the national schools were built the children that were going to the hedge schools wanted to go to them but the teacher would not teach them.

  2. There were schools long ago known as hedge schools. One of these was situated in a place called Moylroe. It was a small thatched house. The teachers name was Master White and he came about four miles walking to teach as there were few ways of travelling. This
